The Album below consists of some bottom fish and water pictures of our first official summer trip. We spent most of the trip fishing for the big game but it didnt turn out too well. No Bites but you can't catch them every time
so we will try again when the weather gets nice again. It takes perfect weather to do the fishing like this but it is well worth the wait.
We left from Destin and covered right at 240 miles total before returning!
I assure you that the elusive Blue Marlin had ever oppurtunity to deal up during this time but like I said they dont always cooperate. If you are familiar with the gulf of mexico in this area I will tell you we covered it all starting with a place referred to as the nipple. from there we fished off to the southwest across the elbow before working in on some bottom fishing areas for the night. When the sun began to rise next morning we worked offshore to the extreme eastern steps off Mobile and then back to the east across an area south of Pensacola known as an explosives dumping area.
Then continuing east all the way to a mountain peak south southwest of Destin named the spur. The Spur was covered up with sargasm weed but there were a few fish. No takers though. At this time we had nothing to lose so we worked offshore into Desoto Canyon and then all the way back to destin across the 100 fathom curve and didnt pull the baits out of the water until we were 9 miles from Destin and the sun had fallen. Here is my
final words of the trip. It was great but some days you catch them and some days you don't. We are gonna do it again in a few days only this time I will use more sun screen and get myself a big damn hat . The sun is very unforgiving. Still after all the torture though I love fishing and I guess I will do it as long as I can.
NOTE: the pics below are 50 to 75kb each and in 800X600 jpeg format .
LOADING may take a while so please be patient. Thanks
Trip Number 2 was not a catch wise big deal but we had a good time and we have nice pictures of the sun coming up and the porpoises. It was kind of rough until the end of the day but it all calmed down in the evening hours. We did bag one dolphin but it was in the beginning of the trip and then nothing all day.
